Well, the Kokanee snubbed their cute little fish noses at my meticulously hand crafted new lures: orange and chartreuse beads surrounded by little Kokanee-sized hootchies, double hooks wrapped in flo-orange, with shiny gold and silver blades. They were unfazed by the flashers and dodgers and mini-trolls (which I found on clearance for $.50 each) that I strung along behind the boat. They didn't even blink at the little florescent yellow corn nuggets and realistic looking fake worms I added to complete the package. No eyelids? Bah. No, they were giving me the fin. They slipped through my hands once again. Luckily it was a beautiful day on the lake, the sun was shining, the water was glimmering (and warm at 72 ° F), and I was doing the thing I love most.

I think perhaps tomorrow I'll do a little steelhead fishing...
